With the 58th Annual Grammy Awards fast approaching, the Recording Academy has revealed new detail surrounding Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated performance. Initially slated to perform her Grammy-nominated single, “Til It Happens to You,” Gaga has since paired with Nile Rogers to produce a tribute to David Bowie after hearing of the icon’s passing.
Ken Ehrlich, longtime Grammys executive producer, confirmed the duo’s “experimental tribute” in an interview with the New York Times.
From the press release: “We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honor David…She’s perfect for it. So I reached out to Nile and, before long, we were on our way to creating what we believe will not only make a great Grammy moment, but one benefitting of David.”
We’ll have to wait until February 15 to see what Gaga and Rogers, who produced Bowie’s Let’s Dance EP, have in store, but it’s sure to be a spectacle fitting of Ziggy Stardust’s incredible legacy.
Watch the live ceremony February 15 at 8 pm EST/ 5 pm PST on CBS.
