The elusive Jai Paul and his brother A.K. Paul have launched a new project entitled Paul Institute. However, the details remain a mystery -- expected, really, considering that mystery seems to be Paul’s calling card.
Disco Naivete pointed out the emergence of the band, but as yet no music has appeared. The only point that fans can work with so far is a new website for the duo which asks for a mobile phone number for you to sign up and receive updates.
Meanwhile, Jai Paul is still yet to release his debut record after years of anticipation. His two stellar singles “BTSU” and “Jasmine” appeared way back in 2011, and while his debut album was reportedly posted to Bandcamp in 2013, the upload was quickly deleted.
Jai tweeted at the time, and it remains his only message, that the record was actually unauthorized. The leak also provoked an official statement from the singers label XL Recordings.
“Music by XL Recordings artist Jai Paul was illegally made available via a fake Bandcamp account. This music was not uploaded by Jai and it's not his debut album - it is a collection of various unfinished recordings from Jai's past,” the statement said at the time.
Since that leak the trail has gone completely cold though.
While you wait for the emergence of any music from the Paul Institute, why not listen to Jai Paul’s first single “BTSU”:
