This week, Ice Cube was interviewed by Rolling Stone to talk about David Bowie, Straight Outta Compton, how to have a good day, and a full-on N.W.A reunion.

Ice Cube worked on Bowie’s “I’m Afraid of Americans” remix in 1997 and responded to how big of a deal it was for him to work on that project by saying, “He was such an innovator, and his songs were phenomenal. I remember when I first heard "Fame" on the radio, I thought he was black. It was so funky.”

Last year, Ice Cube appeared on stage with MC Ren and DJ Yella at the BET Experience in Los Angeles, as N.W.A, for the first time in almost twenty years. This year, Ice Cube has secured a spot on Coachella’s lineup. In an interview on The Talk, he promised to bring all the members of N.W.A together with some “great visuals.” It may be too optimistic of a thought, but Coachella is known for resurrecting rappers by hologram *cough* Tupac *cough.* Eazy-E has been on stage as a hologram a year after Tuapc’s Coachella appearance with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and DJ Yella at Rock The Bells.

When asked about a reunion tour by Rolling Stone, Ice Cube said, “Well, I don't really know the status. Making the movie was a monster, and we had to really concentrate on that. Some things are easier said than done, and I don't know where everybody's head is at. I hope people will see us out on that stage together soon, but it's really up to Dre and Ren and Yella. You might see some of us; you might not see all of us.”
