Grimes's latest project is an interactive musical installation, entitled REALiTi: Inside the Music of Grimes. The exhibit will be showcased at Moogfest 2016, which she is also headlining.
Attendees will have a unique opportunity of remixing her track “REALiTi” in a way that incorporates song and physical reality. Operated through Microsoft Kinect for their Music x Tech program, each interaction/motion will be monitored and translated into an array of sounds and visuals. The official press release describes it as “redefining the music experience" and invites visitors to "manipulate their surroundings as they explore an ever-evolving world”.
The music festival-meets-technology conference is being held May 19-22 in Durham, North Carolina, and the feature will be taking place that Friday, the 20th.

Realiti – Inside the Music of Grimes is an environment that celebrates music, art and technology by offering fans a unique chance to remix the track ‘Realiti’ by festival headliner Grimes. Redefining the music experience, the installation invites visitors to manipulate their surroundings as they explore an ever-evolving world.
The installation’s system is a part of Microsoft’s ongoing Music x Tech program. Powered by Microsoft's Kinect technology, the innovative hardware recognizes and tracks each interaction with the installation, translating the data into unique sounds and visuals. The result is a dynamic and immersive environment that blurs the line between creator and audience.
