The Grateful Dead have announced a tour with John Mayer, and that it will be klnown as Dead and Company. The supergroup, which features Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Heart and Bill Kreutzmann alongside John Mayer, have announced a 17 gig tour starting in June.
The group will make a headline appearance at Bonaroo Music Festival before embarking on their own US tour.
Dead and Company was first formed in 2015, after the surviving members of iconic 1960's band reformed to perform a series of concerts in Chicago. The Fare The Well tour proved to be highly successful and the new group was formed out of the reunion.
The band played their first show at Madison Square Garden in October last year, before announcing more dates.
In an interview from last year with People Magazine, Bob Weir revealed that he and Mayer had developed chemistry on stage,
"It was the kind of thing you don't just offhandedly walk away from," he said. "We got to talking and things got rolling. I would play something and I would hear his answer very clearly – he was listening to what I was playing, listening to what I was singing and responding to it," he said.
