Fans of Australian producer Flume have received another little taste of new music, as anticipation builds for his forthcoming album Skin. Yesterday morning on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, Flume played the most recent single "Never Be Like You," with the help of singer Kai as well as a new, as of yet, untitled track with the help of Perth singer/producer KUČKA, who also features on "Smoke & Retribution" alongside Vince Staples.
The new track, which BBC Radio 1 asked fans to name during the break, starts at 7:45 with live vocals from KUČKA. Then after a roundup of song title suggestions, (at 17:30) you can hear Flume cover the Canadian singer, Alessia Cara's 2015 hit "Here," with a little help from both Kai and KUČKA share vocal duties on the song. The track's got Flume's signature synth stabs and off kilter drum programming to set it apart for the original. You can compare for yourself below though.
While Flume hinted that the album is indeed finished, we don't currently have a release date confirmed.
At the time of recording Flume was in London for a show at the Roundhouse which he admits to be the beginning of a year that is "tour heavy."
