Rufus Wainwright has announced that he will be releasing a tribute album to commemorate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death. The album is called Take All My Loves: 9 Shakespeare Sonnets and will come out on April 22 through Deutsche Grammophon. It features vocals from Martha Wainwright, William Shatner, Helena Bonham Carter, Carrie Fisher, and others.
Just recently, a snippet of Florence Welch's contribution to the album surfaced online. The Florence + the Machine singer takes on Shakespeare's "When in Disgrace with Fortune and Men's Eyes (Sonnet 29)," which can be previewed below. The song features backing vocals from Wainwright, and is a moody and harp-driven interpretation of the well-known poem.
