With Coachella and Ultra ticked off the list and Glastonbury around the corner, the global festival scene has space for another name to bubble through and establish its place in the annual calendar. Having launched in 2007 with a showcase of quirky underground and hype artists such as Foals, Benga and Magistrates, it managed to grow exponentially over the years to bookmark the best in cult, alternative and cool artists that served the electronica, pop, indie and truly alternative market with a gold star for effort.

Hosted in the beautiful setting of Victoria Park in the east of London, UK, the 9-stage offering boasts a string of credible and popular collaborations for each set up from the likes of super-popular London promoters Eat Your Own Ears through to New York-based magazine Fader. The result is an eclectic mix of acts from the face of future R&B Nao to international producer ATA KAK; all within a stones throw of public transport yet feeling a world away once you enter the festival gates and are transported to a dream-like adventure of sound to graze through across the weekend.

If you’re based in or visiting London this weekend, it’s definitely one to tick off the list, offering a slightly less sweaty, mud-ridden experience to that of the larger festivals out there, but there’s no compromise with the line-up. To get you in the spirit we’ve pulled together a sampler playlist of all the best artists playing across the weekend here. And if you’re tempted to join the other 25,000 folks partying the weekend away with killer entertainment then head to the Field Day website for tickets and more information.
