On this week's episode of Farmer Jah Misery: Father John Misty's XPoNential Music Festival set ended with just two songs. After that he proceeded with his Anti-Trump spiel, rallying the audience with more than playful banter. As reported by Consequence of Sound, Tillman left the stage "laughing hysterically, as if he were incredibly proud of his performance."
Father John Misty's appearance at the Newport Folk Festival the next day proved no less interesting; Tillman revealed that Chipotle offered him $250,000 to cover Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" for the company's new ad.

In the video, after revealing the abandoned Chipotle ad, the artist quips with, "Yep, that's my life." He adds, "Cool, so I can just buy like two Cadillacs and just crash them together. I don't want your fucking burrito money," to which the audience responded with a very impressed whoop.
In a recent tweet, Tillman finally clears it out as to why, out of all things in the world, he brought that specific offer on the table:

What happened to the burrito ad? Thanks to Alabama Shakes' Britanny Howard and My Morning Jacket's Jim James, a recent rendition of "I Want It That Way" now exists as the background music of a cute Pixar-esque animation on oranges, lemons, and love. Incidentally, Alabama Shakes was set to perform a day after Tillman's appearance at Newport. Interesting.
