Fat White Family, hailing from Brixton in South London, are to play a one-off headline show back where it all started. The massive gig, at London’s O2 Academy in Brixton, is down the road from The Queens Head Pub, the place where the band played their first live shows back in 2012 as part of the venue’s Slide-In nights.
The six piece punk band announced the following statement about the gig: “It is with joyous remorse we would like to announce a very special performance at Brixton Academy September 17, for sweet mother Brixton is on the road to well dressed irrelevance, just another open casket in a city bent on deathly formalities. Nostalgia is no substitute for community and dialogue; that being said, if we cannot prove a good example, let us be the sad reminder.”
Tickets for the show go on sale at 9:00 a.m. (GMT) on Friday 8 April. A full supporting line-up will be announced by the band shortly. Keep an eye on their official Facebook page for more!
