While reports have come in the past few days of Drake’s monster first week sales (according to Buzz Angle Music, Drake sold over 900,000 units in his first three days in US and Canada), Beats 1 Radio has released the video for Zane Lowe’s interview of Drake the night Views first dropped.
Through the course of the hour-long interview, Drake touched upon his personal relationships with fellow artists such as The Weeknd, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj; the changing of the seasons in Toronto, which stood as a primary influence on this album; the potential of a collaborative album with Kanye West amongst other future releases and what he hopes to accomplish in the forthcoming years of his career, which he hints may include a return to acting.
It’s important to note that this is a rare interview for Drake who, after a bad experience with Rolling Stone where the magazine “gave away” his cover story to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, claimed he would no longer talk to the press. The only other noted interview in the past two years was with The FADER last September.Watch the interview in its full glory below as Drake talks about all that and also comments once again on Kanye West’s pool which he says is ‘phenomenal.’
