DJ Shadow has announced that his new album, The Mountain Will Fall, will be released on June 24. The last release from the American producer was 2014's The Liquid Amber EP. His last full-length effort came in the form of 2011's The Less You Know, The Better.
The album will include features from Run The Jewels, Nils Frahm, Ernie Fresh, and others. In an interview with Pitchfork, Josh Davis (aka DJ Shadow) said that he deliberately limited the guest appearances on his new album.
"I don't really want it to be one of these records where it's this hot rapper, this hot rapper, this feature," Davis said he told his manager. "I didn't want to have to convince anybody that it was worth their time to be on my records. [Laughs] I just didn't want to make that kind of record."
The new album will be released by Mass Appeal and they are currently streaming the title track.
Near the end of 2015, DJ Shadow shared "Swerve" which will serve as an iTunes-exclusive bonus track on the upcoming album.
The producer also took to Twitter to share some other details about the albums release and touring.
