There are many ways and places to be told tragic news. Being in the Celebrity Big Brother house as a contestant is most certainly not one of them.
David Bowie's ex-wife, Angie Bowie, has been a contestant on the UK reality show for the past fortnight. She was reportedly told, off camera, of his death shortly after it was announced.
At the time, Bowie reportedly decided to remain a contestant in the house. Nine days later, she left the house on the grounds that she was feeling "unwell."
The reality TV show has been slammed for airing footage of Bowie crying over her late ex-husband.
Speaking in the show's 'diary room,' she revealed, "I haven't seen him in so many years, I can't make a big drama about it. I just feel like an era has ended."
The sixty-six year old former actress and model was married to David Bowie from 1970-1980. Although it is reported the pair have not spoken since their divorce, Angie is the mother of their son, filmmaker and director Duncan Jones, who remained close to his father until his death at age sixty-nine.
