In an exciting, surprising and unprecedented piece of news to kick off 2016, Chris Brown has been accused of allegedly punching a Brazilian woman in the face.
The incident took place in Las Vegas, where Brown was hosting a party in his room at the Palms Casino Resort. Liziane Gutierrez reportedly snuck past security into Brown’s suite to grab a photo of the rapper, and alleges that he hit her and took away her phone. According to her account, she quickly left, but did not contact police for a few hours.
Brown’s publicist, Nicole Perna, called the allegations “unequivocally untrue”, explaining that Gutierrez “was escorted out of the private after party at the Palms Casino Resort for being disruptive and out of control.”
“Once she was in the hallway, while waiting for Chris Brown’s security to bring out her phone, she had a total meltdown — throwing her purse to the ground and claiming that she ‘could buy everyone in the hotel’ — as witnessed by numerous people waiting to get into the party. The Palms Casino Resort security also saw her wild behaviour via hotel security cameras and immediately came up to the hallway to escort her out of the hotel.”
Brown posted a now-deleted Instagram video, in which he denies the claim, calling the woman “dusty”, “old”, “ugly”, “bitch” and my personal favourite, “look at her in a Jason Derulo video.” Incidentally, Gutierrez recently made tabloid headlines after this video surfaced of her aggressive response to being refused entry into Derulo's van, which was heading to an afterparty. Considering the fact that this is not her first celebrity altercation, it may well be true that the incident didn't take place exactly as reported.
Last year, Chris Brown’s parole was lifted, ending five years of probation following his assault charges against Rihanna in 2009.
