Childish Gambino just announced that he will be hanging up the alter ego following his next album. This will be his last album as Childish Gambino. Like Chet Faker returned to Nick Murphy, Gambino will default back to his actual name, Donald Glover. Wait what? We don't want to wrinkle your brain or anything... but, if you didn't already know, Childish Gambino is Donald Glover.

Donald Glover is Childish Gambino

Donald Glover is an american actor (known for his role in Community) AND an indie rap-star, known as Childish Gambino. For some, this might come as a bit of a surprise. He also frequently DJs under the name mcDJ. As Childish Gambino, he has released three albums, seven mixtapes, and two EPs. Rumor on the street (Reddit) is that he will start releasing albums under his own name now. 

Childish Gambino's Last Album

After performing "Redbone," which you can hear below, at Governors Ball Music Festival on June 3rd, closed his set by saying, "You’re in my heart, I'll see you for the last Gambino album." 

"Redbone" lyrics go a little something like this:

If you want it, 
You can have it, 
If you need it, 
We can make it, 
If you want it
You can have it

Funny though, the "Redbone" lyrics clearly don't apply to his fans who will have likely hoped for more than one last Childish Gambino album.
