Bon Iver cancelled their Mexico tour earlier this year. It was going to be the band's vacation, a vacation that involved the band performing three full sets across a four-night event. The sets would have taken place alongside performers like Sylvan Esso, Poliça, Francis and the Lights, Hiss Golden Messenger, Melt-Banana, Spank Rock, Aero Flynn, Phil Cook, Dizzy Fae, Velvet Negroni, Amy Warehouse and Hrrrbek. To fan's dismay, it was cancelled and that is why Bon Iver's recent announcement of 2018 tour dates in Mexico has been well-received by their fanbase.
Bon Iver Mexico
Bon Iver will be performing in Monterrey, at the Auditorio Citibanamex, on January 27th and in Mexico City, at the Pepsi Center, on January 28th. Presale tickets are available for the official fan club members, who can access a unique code on their pre-registered profile on the fan page website. It's like Charlie's family all singing 'I've got a golden ticket,' except the version where everyone is sitting behind a computer screen alone instead of dancing in a shared bedroom. After the presale tickets are sold, the remaining tickets will be available to the general public for both Mexico dates on Thursday, September 21st.
Bon Iver & The National
Bon Iver is touring their latest album 22, A Million and, and at their Cork Opera House concert in Ireland, the band was joined on-stage by The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner. They sang some of Bon Iver's songs, and the reverse happened at The National's concert at the same venue. Bon Iver's Justin Vernon joined the band on stage and sang with them, covering songs from The National's latest album, Sleep Well Beast.
