Here at Indie news, we try really hard to deliver important news about important artists, but every now and again a story comes about that's so ridiculous that it needs reporting, even if it ticks neither of those boxes.
It turns out "Major Caye" is a major key. The small island off the coast of Belize has been nicknamed in honor of the Miami DJ and Snapchat impresario, DJ Khaled, playing on popular catchphrase "major key."
Though the Belize tourism board missed Khaled's peak a matter of weeks ago, it's still a fun way to boost awareness of the Central American countries picturesque coastal territories.
In the official tweet announcing the change, the board sited Khaled's "love for the ocean [and] his constant positivity," as the reason for the homage. The former disc-jockey seemingly never misses an opportunity to tout his many accomplishments, and I'm sure this island tribute will become a popular brag.

Khaled thanked the country in the following tweet, expressing his love and appreciation for the honor:

DJ Khaled has morphed into quite the character, reaching levels of ubiquity unheard of for a hip-hop "DJ". Personally, I could use with a little less of the gregarious man in my life, but this story is fun, so enjoy.
