On July 1, Natasha Khan will release her first Bats for Lashes album since 2012. The Bride will serve as a follow up to The Haunted Man and was produced with collaborators  Dan Carey, Head, Simone Felice, and Ben Christophers.

As Pitchfork points out, the album is inspired by the short film I Do that was both written and directed by Khan. The film premiered in April at New York City's Tribeca Film Festival.

"The Bride follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding," states a press release for the album. "The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration."

It is likely that the album will feature the song "I Do," which Khan released a few days before Valentine's Day. The song's video also serves as a "Save the Date" for the July 1st album release.

We do know The Bride will feature the song "In God's Hands." The album will be released with an accompanying text, the first chapter of which can be found below.
