President Barack Obama continues to reach out from the White House to the hip-hop community, confessing to a crowded Democratic National Committee fundraiser that he "loves J Cole", who was scheduled to perform at the event.

Obama credited his daughters for keeping him tuned in to new music, saying: “You know, this is the benefit of having teenage daughters: I actually keep up."

The DNC speech took place shortly after President Obama's SXSW keynote, at which he addressed and challenged America's tech industry.

This J Cole testimonial is only Obama's most recent foray into the hip-hop world, as he has previously praised Kendrick Lamar, and invited the Compton rapper to the Oval Office.

Furthermore, just over a week ago, Kanye West claimed that Barack had persuaded him to "do beats on Nas' next album".

Barack Obama's musical acumen seems to be beyond reproach, a skill we cannot take to lightly in a political climate where presidential hopefuls like Marco Rubio have openly endorsed Pitbull.

So wherever you stand on Barack Obama, just be grateful he isn't listening to Mr. International in his headphones.
