Animal Collective Could Have Produced Music for Action Blockbuster "Limitless"

In a recent Reddit AMA, Animal Collective, the experimental soundscape artists from the United States, revealed they were in talks to create original music for the 2011 Bradley Cooper action motion picture, Limitless.

A fan asked the band if they would ever "do an original soundtrack for a film" and Geologist (Brian Weitz) had this to say:

"We got asked to do some music for that movie Limitless while they were filming it, but when we talked to the director he just wanted something that sounded like an instrumental version of Summertime Clothes which we weren't very excited about doing."

Geologist also spoke on a few other pop culture items they wanted to dip their hands in. "We wanted to do some sound design for Danny's new film Antibirth but timing made it tough ... We also did a song and some sound design for an add-on for Red Dead Redemption, but it got rejected."

Animal Collective just recently came out with a new album, Painting With, on February 19th. You can listen to two of the singles from that album, FloriDaDa and Golden Gal, down below.
