The first preview of Anderson. Paak’s upcoming documentary entitled All in a Day’s Work has been released.

The doco, which is presented by Beats by Dre, delves into the working relationship between .Paak and Dre in the studio as they work together on new music. While there is also footage of his recent appearance at Coachella Festival where Dre joined him onstage for the very first time.

In the trailer, .Paak discusses the moment as well as what he thinks of his mentor who signed him to his record label.

"You're only nervous when you're unprepared. So I'm not nervous. I'm excited to be on the stage. It's no time to get nervous," he said in the video.

"I think it's refreshing of him [Dre] to work with an artist that has a lot of range.”

The 30-year old musician released his sophomore album under his current moniker this year. Malibu was his follow up to 2014’s Venice, and has catapulted him into the public’s focus.

Speaking to The Guardian recently Paak opened up about his origins in music, and explained why it took him so long to become happy with his output.

“I thought things would just fall into my lap. So I’d put my career in the hands of just about anybody. And before I knew it I was in my late 20s, and things just weren’t sticking. Plus, in LA image is more than half the battle, and I was just a music nerd who never gave a fuck about image,” he said.

He credited the birth of his son with changing his approach and setting him on his way where he finally became confident with his music.

“I guess it just took time,” he said. “I don’t think I knew before how to properly express what I had gone through in song form. I’m glad I didn’t try to force it before I was ready though.”
