It’s been almost two decades since the birth of the All Good Music Festival & Camp Out in 1997. 2016 would have marked its 19th instalment, until earlier this week when organizers Tim Walther and Junipa Contento-Süslü announced the retirement of the four-day festival, which took place in Summit Point, West Virginia.
An official statement was published via the official site:
“…With a heavy heart we are announcing today that we are retiring the All Good Music Festival and Campout. We want to thank each of you for your support of live music, your love for our community and for sharing and creating everlasting All Good memories.”
Junpia also included a brief history on the West Virginia and Ohio based event, sharing that it was a project for creating an annual destination where fans could be unified by music, art and camping in safe community. Somewhere people can “come away transformed, just as this rise of musical rhapsody had transformed us.”
Previous artists that have played All Good include The Flaming Lips, The Allman Brothers Band, Lotus, Galactic, Phil Lesh & Friends, Cake, and The Lumineers.
And although the weekend-long Summer festival is no more, Junipa and Tim are still working on a number of events in the near future, including the two-day "All Good Presents" celebration, set for July 9-10.
