Why do we like this?
It's hard to place a precise label on New York Transit Authority's sound -- not that confining sounds to genres is always a good move -- but we can quite easily place him in terms of artists who he fits in with. Redlight, Animal Youth, and Mak & Pasteman are the names that come to mind.
On his latest release, the hotly anticipated "95," NYTA who, despite the name, hails from Bristol, ploughs a dark, menacing sound, with heavy sub-bass and minimal instrumentation. It's all rather reminiscent of Animal Youth's "Sixty Four Zero," another recent favorite.
