New Venusians is a seven-piece Sydney band that just oozes talent, sass, and creativity.
The brainchild of guitarist Ben Panucci, their sound effortlessly blends electronic, soul, and jazz elements, with "contemporary influences such as Little Dragon, FKA Twigs and Son Lux," or so it says on their SoundCloud page.
Their 2013 debut single "Finding" was just a small taste of what the band has to offer, and I waited with bated breath for something new from the group.
"Keep Running" doesn't disappoint; main vocalist Meklit Kibret’s soulful voice soar over the gritty synths and syncopated guitar riffs with ease, while Christian Hemara (who you will often find performing with NGAIIRE) harmonizes perfectly on backing vocalist duty.
New Venusians will release their debut EP in the latter part of 2015. It's also worth checking out their awesome video for "Keep Running" below:
