Why do we like this?
"Fallout" comes to us as the first new song off Neon Indian's upcoming album Era Extraña. Following up 2009's Pyschic Chasms (which we reviewed here), Alan Palomo is releasing the album September 13th. Interesting to note that the album was recorded in Finland last year, but produced over in New York with the help of Flaming Lips collaborator Dave Fridmann.
The song has an undeniable 80s feel to it -- dark, brooding and synth-heavy. It's an interesting direction to take the chillwave genre, and I've got to give him props for demonstrating that he's keen on evolving the oft-redundant genre.
