Despite Dallas being 561 miles from the nearest beach (South Padre Island), our favorite Texan producer Neo-Safari is really putting out some sandy vibes with his newest EP
Wave To You, and here at Indie Shuffle we are stoked to premiere his newest single.
While his last remix of Blondfire's
"Where the Kids Are" Neo-Safari took us straight to the club, on "Sunshine" I feel much more inclined to find a shady spot in the sand with a cold Mexican beer in my hand. With some boardwalk-esque synths looped over some R &B vocal samples, as well as another sample of quite possibly one of the best pop songs ever written (The Temptations' "My Girl"), Neo-Safari has managed to musically hit the soul of the beach by combining Motown, chillwave, and R&B. It's like you're getting your daily dose of vitamin D without even having to go outside.
The B-side on
Wave To You is a super chilled-out instrumental track that keeps up with the beach theme. You can check it out on Neo-Safari's newly redesigned
website.
This EP is especially important for those of us who find ourselves quite distant from hearing the waves lapping up on the beach. Thank you, Neo-Safari, for putting a little ocean peace in my desert soul.
