Why do we like this?

These ladies are charming. Whether it's their whistling harmonies or the surprise of their ragged, warm voice, these Danish girls are enviable on several accounts. They're total babes, they can whistle, and they're delivering us these melodies that are catchy enough to stick for days yet light enough that you dont even mind. Despite giving us their first EP just this past January, they are already being announced as part of the initial lineup for the acclaimed Roskilde Festival. If only we could find a way to Denmark.

These girls are already on their second musical venture. Niels Pa Dase was composed of these same gals in their high school days -- except it was a fake band, with fake songs, that got a real manager, fan-base and bookings. Out of necessity, they materialized and carried on for a time, only to fall apart. But after a nice break they've come back, and now they're Nelson Can!

This song in particular, "Apple Pie," is a charm to listen to. With a soothing whistle that laces through a cramped drumbeat, Signe, Selina and Tami offer their vastly different vocal amenities. The other songs aren't as poignant as our favorite here, but they do carry through a feeling of femininity and coquettish grace.

Listen in on the sounds emanating from Denmark, they're nothing short of joyous.
