J Dilla,
We Are The Tay
Why do we like this?
The great thing about music is that it is boundless. It has no definite shape or form, it exists as an expression and expressions are like spirits, which latch on to whatever, wherever, whenever. A song, like a spirit, can change feelings, moods, mannerisms -- momentarily, extensively. There are no rules in the spirit world, much like there are no rules in the world of music. What I'm getting at is this: a piece of music can evoke a strong feeling for as many boundless reasons as creation itself is boundless.
In the endless sea of musicians creating music, it's insane to think about how much of it we may be missing -- how much of it could effect us in a uniquely emotional way and we would NEVER KNOW. That's why we're here at Indie Shuffle, to help you help yourself find that magic!
Thus, I present Nazzy, a fifteen year-old producer from Saratoga, New York. I've listened to his entire library, and it's great. If you're into lo-fi, hip hop beats then you will love this. That, and the fact that he has used samples from video games to compile the whole beat tape... I dunno, it kinda makes me swoon.
Yes, he could afford to get a bit better at the mixing process, but I have faith he'll figure that out. In the meantime, "The Hero's Love Interest" is rocking my spirit world. It's the perfect color of todays emotional escape, and I really suggest you listen to all of Reminiscence. It's just great.
