It's been a while since we've heard anything from Swedish/Barbadian talent Naomi Pilgrim, but with a new EP on the way, the London-based artist has offered up new single "Sink Like A Stone."
The track is a meeting of R&B and pop soundscapes, held together by Pilgrim's lush vocal prowess. Co-written with Henrik Jonzon, "Sink Like A Stone" was inspired by African-American Eric Garner's death in New York in 2014, as Pilgrim details below;
"Eric Garner died because of the colour of his skin. And despite the fact that structural racism permeates society to a point where it leads to this kind of modern-day lynching, many of us choose to ignore it. If we want to turn things around we need to fight the fear-mongering, take a good look at our history and most importantly, start listening to each other."
New EP Sink Like A Stone is coming soon.
