Why do we like this?
Sultry Swedish/Barbadian R&B purveyor Naomi Pilgrim has just released her wonderful, debut self-titled EP. The three-track EP collects first single, "No Gun," as well as her cover of Lady's "Money," and is rounded off by unreleased track "Rainmakers."
The former Lykke Li backup singer is an immense talent, with pure soulful vocals that fuse effortlessly with beats comprising everything from R&B, pop, electronica, and modern soul, with "Rainmakers" a perfect example of her pedigree. Co-written with Jan Kask, who also co-wrote Say Lou Lou's "Maybe You" and "Julian," "Rainmakers" is a beautiful hybrid of cosy electronica and modern pop, with Pilgrim's vocals simply stunning.
