Why do we like this?
A recent Radio 1 show provided various bits of new work from James Blake, and the tracks were absolutely legit.
The best was his remix of Mystikal's "Pay Me," under his Harmonimix guise. The track is quite different to anything Blake's put out before. Combining textures and atmospheres most common in field recordings with samples from Mystikal's original, all underscored by a soulful guitar, this is pretty groundbreaking stuff.
Given how long it took Blake to release his last Harmonimix (getting on 5 years) we might be waiting a while for this official release.
