Why do we like this?
So this is a nice change of pace! Every once in awhile I'll come across an email containing music that's off in its own realm... but in a really good way. This band, My Woshin Mashin, is one of them.
Their song, "Eli" is haunting, creepy and even kind of sexy. The electronic instrumentals have an almost cartoonish sound to them but at the same time, there's an obvious cohesiveness that keeps the song flowing effortlessly. The vocals are classically reminiscent of a 50s lounge singer. And though I don't understand the language, its exotic nature surpasses any cultural barrier. In other words, this song can be enjoyed as a worldly treasure.
My Woshin Mashin's CD, EVIL MUST DIE, will be released on April 30th.
