Why do we like this?
My Goodness -- their name sums it all up. The Seattle duo creates a thundering post-blues/post-punk sound that encompasses the roots of Seattle greats like Nirvana and the influence of post-hardcore legends like Rites of Spring.
Yet it's singer Joel Schneider's pleasantly uncanny and cacophonous vocals that send chills through this writer's bones. And just like the great vocalists of Seattle's local rock scene, Schneider is wholly unique. Combine this with Andy Lum's Peart-like precision on drums and My Goodness is a "get here quick" kind of find -- that buzz band your friends and enemies will be clamoring to claim as their discovery.
The band recently released a 45 on RANDM Records and is currently working on readying their debut LP. As of today they are on tour with (We Are) Augustines and will be hitting up SXSW plus a myriad of cities near you. If you are looking for a band whose live show is better and more fervent than their already glistening and blistering recordings, My Goodness is that band. Go see them live!
