murmurmur are the newest psychedelic rock act from Melbourne set for big things. Fronted by Will Fletcher and almost 12 months in the making, murmurmur (pronounced mer-mer-mer) are an invigorating blast of prog-rock psychedelica.
The five piece are readying the release of their self-titled debut EP and have shared the melodic first single "Cable Car." Fletcher's vocals exude melancholy beauty over the mellow psych-rock offering, featuring shimmering guitars and pressing percussion. The band had this to say about the track;
Lyrically, 'Cable Car' explores the process reimagining the future when you lose sight of your original dream or vision. It's about transition and change, and learning to let go of the past.
Produced by Oscar Dawson (HOLY HOLY, Alex Lahey, British India, Ali Barter), the band's EP is shaping up as one of the surprise must hear releases of 2018, with "Cable Car" the perfect introduction to murmurmur.
murmurmur's self-titled EP is set for release this August.
