Why do we like this?
Mura Masa is a 18-year old kid and a self-proclaimed "beat slayer heart breaker." He dropped his debut project,Soundtrack to a Death in November, and shortly thereafter, the single "Miss You" began making it's way across the music blogosphere. Now he's done it again, but with more emotion and melancholy than ever before.
If I wasn't such a huge Usher fan in the early 2000s, I might not even have noticed the vocal track was a sample; they're so perfectly woven into the song that it's hard to believe that Mura Masa is utilizing a Childish Gambino cover.
Mura Masa crafted this downtempo jam in just "a few hours" and I couldn't be more grateful. For all of those who enjoy a late night drive, this is an absolute necessity.
