It's hard to imagine the connection between Nicole Barille and Sam Meister, the husband-wife duo that makes up Mr. Gnome, but through their music and their story, one gets a small glimpse. Triggered by the loss of a father and the subsequent birth of a child, this creative couple explores the dichotomies of the human experience in their upcoming album, The Day You Flew Away, set to be released October 16, 2020.
Music does so much for people, and while the creation of "Psychonaut," and the tracks that will feature on the album, must have been a healing, exploratory journey for Barille and Meister, it will inevitably do a lot for their listeners too. Music can be the perfect escape, and sometimes it's the perfect punch that wakes one to the present moment. "Psychonaut" definitely falls into the former category as it sends one out into the universe, across the galaxies, to dance among the stars and moons...and hopefully some freaky looking aliens with super-funky dance moves too. I've been having some fun dancing with the aliens to this one, and I hope you do too :)
