Movement took the blogosphere by storm this last month, with over 200k SoundCloud plays in a flash, as well as nods from the likes of Pitchfork. Hugh was all over the trio, calling "
Us" dreamy, delicate, and totally understated. The band went global quickly, which is impressive for only having played a few shows in Syndey. Like other quick-to-fame YouTube favorites (e.g. The Weeknd), you know there were going to be remixes. Enter SF-based Charlie Yin, aka Giraffage.
Charlie's been an Indie Shuffle favorite for a while, with Philip recently covering
his epic Alice Deejay remix. This "Us" remix is a glitched out version of the sensual club original, with chilly beeps and bops interjecting those creamy vocals. It's got that distinctive Giraffage sound -- airy and atmospheric. Just watch the tempo build up then go nuts at 2:10. Girl, it's something else.
If you missed the
original, I highly recommend you check it out. As for Giraffage, he'll be playing Treasure Island, where we're hosting a little
pop-up shop at San Franpsycho. Did you know you can get a free glass of wine if you download our free app? Maybe you could listen to this on the way over...
