My favorite musical space alien is back with "Foyer," the follow-up to last month's "Knives." For some reason the titles of Mouthe's recent string of singles seem to read like a hidden distress message.
"Trouble. Knives. Foyer."
Should we send help? I'm concerned.
Regardless of hidden meanings, the furtive artist delivers his signature trip-hop couplets atop poppy glitch-laden beats. The starry synth hits melt into his deep, eerie growl, making for a cool and unexpected mixture.
The production on "Foyer" is more uplifting than the artist's previous effort. It more closely resembles the colorful lightness of "Hallelujah" than the ominous hypnosis of "Knives."
Bonus: if you're feeling brave you can grab the remix stems for the aforementioned tracks over at the official website. Be sure to follow Mouthe on SoundCloud to get your supernatural glitch fix.
