Why do we like this?
A few months back, fellow Shuffler Anu had shared a beautiful track from the brilliant UK producer Stuart Thomas (who goes by the moniker Mountain Range). The musical world is definitely starting to notice Mountain Range; yesterday he released a few remixes of the track "It's Lonely Around People, Too," from artists like Sun Glitters, Ole Torjus, and Teen Daze for free on his Bandcamp.
I really enjoy the spin that Teen Daze has put on the track. Keeping true to the laid-back mood and seemingly intentional disconnect of the original, Teen Daze manages to instill his own chillwave flavor. He opens up with some of his signature synth patches, and slowly adds layer after layer. There is plenty here to dissect; whether it's the vibraphone hinting in the back or the softly played piano, Teen Daze really shows some love to an already emotion filled track.
