I should really let this one speak for itself, but since you and I are already here, let me introduce you to one of Moses Sumney's newest releases, "Rank & File."
Arguably one of the artist's most brutally incisive and flawless tracks yet, it first came out as a single with an accompanying video, before being included on the artist's newest EP, Black in Deep Red, 2014. The charged title, taken from a Mark Rothko painting, should give you a sense of what you're in for. Put down your drink, watch the video, and pay close attention to Sumney's words.
I'm absolutely floored with the caliber of artistry that's packed into less than 4 minutes. Sumney goes as deep as he can to pack an uncompromising punch. A field recording of a woman sounds off after a chorus. We hit a lull. She is upfront and concise: "I'm paying you to harass me?"
