If I had built a pop artist based on all my interests, tastes, and feels, it would be Morgan Saint. Like a doppelganger version of a burgeoning vision of the me in the mirror, Saint is that foggy form looking back - an artist birthed from the same tribulations, and desires.
Her Bowie-esque looks, Japanese influenced fashion, vaguely balearic beats speaking to the cultural ecology of the moment. Her lyrics are honest and fresh, her voice innocent yet biting.
In the case of "YOU" Saint speaks to a familiar feeling - looking for love in all the wrong places, and that maybe it's because there's still ghost we're chasing. Maybe we're the ones who aren't ready to find love.
"YOU" is off of her recent album 17 HERO. Listen to the whole thing on her Soundcloud, and enjoy!
