Hello Skinny
Why do we like this?
Big ups to sweeneykovar and David Peter Simon for introducing some of you fine Shufflers to Mo Kolours, the half-Mauritian, half-English singer, producer, and percussionist. You might remember that we recently hyped "Mike Black," a soulful, African-inspired tune from Mo Kolour's self-titled debut album.
Mo Kolours is, in a word, spirited. Nowhere is this vitality channeled more clearly to me than on "Little Brown Dog." I love what Mo Kolours (birth name Joseph Deenmamode) is able to accomplish with such a simple steel drum loop. Combined with Deenmamode's sweet vocals, the track instantly transports me to my happy place.
Please do your ears a favor and explore Mo Kolours in full on SoundCloud or Bandcamp.
