Why do we like this?
Oxford-based four piece MMX (which might be one of my new favorite acts this year) is gearing up for a new EP, Heir, and my god, is it stunning. I'm surprised this band has not received more attention, so hopefully this posting credits them with that.
The new track "Only" from the forthcoming EP features cinematic guitars, airy synths, stimulating beats, and stunning vocals that collectively should give you the chills. While having reminiscences of late 80s pop vibes, "Only" should definitely once and for all put MMX on the map for good.
Side note: be sure to check out their past EP Child, which I almost featured in lieu of the new track -- that's how good it is. Heir is expected to be released sometime in September 2013.
