It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard from New York-based Misha. The quirky indie rock band generated a lot of buzz when they released their album Teardrop Sweetheart almost a decade ago in 2007; its tracks explored everything from heartache to nostalgia.
Well, now in the year 2016 and led by John Chao, the band is back with a brand new single titled “You.” Still retaining the boisterous and fuzzy frolicking pop sensibilities of their earlier work had, the newest single is a much more enthusiastic endeavor. The guitars ramshackle along the thumping bass and marching percussion while Chao’s vocals joyously serenade the listener.
Chao states that the track is "about that rush of feeling you get when you're just falling in love." It was inspired in part by the Indian romance movie "The Lunchbox," which is sort of his "When Harry (Didn't) Meet Sally."
The group may have been gone for almost ten years, but they haven’t lost a step when it comes to writing and producing some of the sweetest pop songs you could listen to.
