Why do we like this?
It seems like forever since I last heard the name Mirah -- probably because that's exactly the case. While she released a collaboration with Thao Nguyen (Thao & Mirah) roughly three years, it's almost been five years since her last solo attempt.
"Oxen Hope" puts an end to that interlude, ushering the announcement of a new album titled Changing Light (out on May 13th). One listen to this song and you'll likely notice its somber tone, which is no coincidence given that Mirah has described this as a "break-up record."
Regardless of how sad this one comes out, I can't help but super duper enjoy it. If you're in the same boat, be sure to catch her on tour.
