Am I the only one who struggles to find 'relaxing' rap music? Not that all hip hop is aggressive, it’s just not what I turn on when I have a headache. However, this beautifully paced track from Mind, Body & Beats and Chester Waston might have just changed that.
Rapper Chester Watson, especially in his work with frequent collaborator Psymun, has always favored ambient, noise-influenced beats that even border on ASMR. “8” keeps up this trend, but with a more minimalist tone that allows Watson to slow down and let his lyrical chops show.
So file this with Lucki’s Body High tape and other drone-y rap music (You know, the kind where their voice never leaves the gravelly part of the back of the throat? No? Nevermind), and I may have my next migraine playlist.
