Given the volume of Australian musicians making waves abroad, it seems like our own soul/R&B artists are often ignored. With the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote and Jordan Rakei starting to break through, it opens up the door for others to follow. One of those might be Sydney's Milan.
We've covered her work previously, and likely will again, with her latest single "Lime" premiering here today. Having traveled over to the US a number of times to work with producers and writers, the talented artist continues to impress with her latest work. Not just a standout vocalist, the accomplished producer and musician's tracks are always nicely polished, and this new song is no different. The smooth soundscapes hover around Milan's highlighted vocals, which shifts from soulful to affable and personable and then back again.
Milan is currently working on her debut album, splitting her time between LA with producer Neff U (Dr Dre, Michael Jackson, Kendrick Lamar) and her home back in Australia.
