Why do we like this?
I gave this song a cursory listen at first, so you'll have to forgive me for thinking that Mikky Ekko was a girl. To be honest, I wasn't really thinking about it until after song had ended, so reading the name Mikky, well...anyway.
Turns out I probably should have noticed Mikky Ekko a while back (eg, when this single was released). The original was produced by Clams Casino, who gave it a slower R&B feel.
Honestly, listening to them side-by-side, I actually really like the picked-up pace of this version. The original is definitely beautiful in and of itself, but having the short musical attention span that I do, this remix makes all the difference.
