Mid Ayr is the brand new project from Brisbane singer/songwriter Hugh Middleton. Aside from having a fantastic first name, he's a pretty special musician. While he's become known around town for his work with the well-regarded group The Trouble With Templeton, he's recently branched out on his own.
"My Mahem" is the first glimpse at Middleton's work, and it's a release that suggests there's a lot more to come from him. A dreamy, pop rock gem complete with delicate guitar work and swelling vocals, there's something absolutely delightful and carefree to it. The work of Tom Iansek (Big Scary, #1 Dads) is obviously an influence, and a good point to aim at for the clearly talented musician.
There's more to come from Mid Ayr in the coming months, with his debut EP slated for release toward the end of the year.
