Why do we like this?
Dramatic musical build-up and epic releases and the distinctive high range vocals of Jonas Bjerre -- this is indicative of the Danish band Mew. I've been following them for a good decade now, and for a band that's now 20 years old, they come at music each time with a fresh, yet consistent, perspective. "Carry Me To Safety" is a perfect example.
It's got hits of "Am I Wry" and "Comforting Sounds" from 2003's Frengers. And if that means this new album will have a strong anchor in their older material, then it's going to be good.
You may know of them after 2015's breakthrough with +- but it's worth exploring their history and now, their upcoming future. "Carry Me To Safety" will be onVisuals, released in April.
